  • Travel and Accommodations
Wedding Venue Sugar Beach Events Hawaii 85 N. Kihei Road Kihei, HI 96753 - Our wedding venue is a free-standing event space and does not offer accommodations for guest check-ins. Arrive Wednesday, March 19, 2025 Travel Continental US If you are coming from New York and want the least amount of connections a typical route will be going from NYC (JFK) → Honolulu (HNL) → Maui (OGG). There are no direct flights from the East Coast directly to Maui. If you prefer to break up the flight you can add multiple connections which typically reduces the price of the overall flight to Hawaii. Once you get closer to the West Coast, options that go directly to Maui without stopping in Oahu become available. Manila, PH Book a flight to Honolulu (HNL) via PAL, ANA, or Korean Air then from there book a connecting flight to Maui (OGG) via Hawaiian Airlines or Southwest. Transportation Once you get to Maui, rental cars are available at Kahului Airport. For more rental car resources: Hertz Kayak Enterprise Avis Budget Crusinmaui Turo (great affordable options) Ride Share Apps: Maui has both Uber and Lyft, both are dependable means of transportation. A ride from the airport to Kihei (the location of the wedding) generally fluctuates around $40. If you don't plan on exploring the island much and are staying near beaches and stores a rental car may not be necessary. Many visitors will rent a car for a portion of their trip to cut down on expenses. Taxi Services: Considering a taxi service? We recommend "Royal Taxi Maui". Wedding Day - March 22, 2025 We will have our Uber code: T&SMAUID - available for our guests to use. We will arrange a shuttle transportation system, pick up and drop-off spots to be announced. Accommodations Unfortunately, we won't be implementing room blocks for the event. However, we listed suitable accommodations nearby that can meet your preferences and budget. • Do you recommend any Maui travel blogs for things to do around the island?
Yes! We always recommend friends and family to check out "The Hawaii Vacation Guide". They have a great content such as the best things to do in Maui, know before you go, best beaches, and more! Considering traveling to another island? They also have great videos on Oahu, Big Island, and Kauai. Check it out with the link below: https://www.youtube.com/@TheHawaiiVacationGuide
  • What is the weather in March?
In General, if you are staying on the South Side of the island (Kihei, Wailea, Makena) the weather tends to be a comfortable (not humid) mid 80's during the day, by nightfall the temperature drops to the high 60's to low 70's. The chance of rain in March is higher than most other months but still only ends up being a few days out of the month. You can almost always get away with a pair of flip flops, shorts, and t-shirt. But we always recommend you have a rain coat and long sleeve shirt or light jacket on hand. Unless you are going on a hike or long walk you wont be needing closed toe shoes for most your trip. Other items to note: - Planning on going "Up Country" (Haleakala, Kula, Makawao, etc) the higher you go up the volcano on Maui (Haleakala) the colder it gets. It can be 85 and sunny by the ocean but half way to the top of Haleakala it can be 65 degrees and windy. - The town of the wedding (Kihei) is one of the driest towns in Maui, receiving less than 10 inches of rain per year on average. - The north side of the island quickly becomes a lush rainforest receiving 74 inches of rain per year on average. It can be a beautiful sunny day on the South Side but be pouring rain in the North Side.
